This Bradley University basketball player out of Paris, Illinois, played four varsity seasons, making the1946-47 Associated Press 1st Team All-American and the Helms Foundation All-American team. He was Bradley's first two-time All-American. In 1947-48 he was an A.P. honorable mention selection.
His career shows he played in 113 varsity games, while scoring 798 points. In 2003, Dave was selected to the Braves' 1940s Team of the Decade. During his four years, Bradley won
112 games while losing 23 and appeared in three NIT and one NCAA postseason tournaments.

In high school, he was the first IHSA player to ever go to `State" four consecutive seasons. His 1942 team finished 2nd and his `43 team won the state title. Dave joined Del Glover, Max Norman and John Cychol from that championship team as future Bradley Braves.
